I will overwhelm 'legitimate combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua
The British boxer will face Jake Paul in an eight-round contest which will be broadcast live on Netflix.
Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "break" the American as the combatants came face-to-face to promote next month's heavyweight fight.
Former two time unified boxing king Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge disparity - at Miami arena on December 19th.
Fighter's Mentality
"I will injure his face and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, said.
"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I'm going to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."
Respectful Exchange
Despite those words, a relaxed Joshua and social media star Paul - typically recognized for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.
Paul instead targeted former Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "not serious" after the Cameroonian rejected a fight offer.
Taking Aim at Fury
Anthony Joshua, at the same time, criticized UK opponent Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.
"Jake Paul is better than Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer commented.
"I respect him for that."
Legitimate Fighter
Despite declaring he will punish Paul, Joshua refused to speak negatively about his rival's boxing ability.
"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he remarked.
Paul's Background
Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has primarily fought mixed martial artists or declining opponents since turning professional.
He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in last year.
Commercial Attraction
Nevertheless, the relative newcomer remains one of the sport's biggest commercial attractions, consistently making huge paydays.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28-year-old forecast a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would prevent the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently under discussion for two years from now.
"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.
Size Difference
As Joshua and Paul participated in the traditional face-off, with their size difference on show, it drove home just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the match is truly happening.
